Europe is ready for a fundamental change: the complacency and arrogance of European technocrats in Brussels are the cause of diminishing trust of citizens in the EU, resulting in pessimism, nationalism, extremism and the rise of fascism.

That’s why a movement like DIEM25 and Be European Spring is necessary, to show that there is an alternative, that there is hope. Europe should democratize with transparent institutions that are not just at the service of banks and multinationals. Everywhere in Europe there are millions of people who still have a piece of month left at the end of their wages, who work hard in order to provide shareholders with dividends.  The crisis, the climate, migration … these problems do not stop at our borders, they have to be tackled on European level. With DIEM25, we demand that women have full self-determination over their bodies. “Boss in your own belly” still does not exist in Malta and other small states in Europe. Reactionary and religious forces – such as in Poland and Hungary – are attacking that right of self-determination. We are convinced that the repression of women in one European Member State poses a threat to women in all Member States.
